Parte dos

Sorry this one is so long y'all. I just have to share everything and we just did so much.

The next morning again found us up bright and early. We had a horseback ride to a waterfall scheduled for bright and early. I stupidly had not brought any jeans {or anything other than sandals and now very wet tennis shoes} so thanks to Emma I wasn't riding in shorts. The ride was fun because they let the horses run every now and then, but the horses are so used to that trip that you don't really have to do anything. We made it to the waterfall after about an hour of riding and discovered we had 224 steps down which meant 224 steps back up. Thank you Luke for counting. The waterfall was amazing though and definitely worth the track down. That's been a common theme here- the more difficult it is to get to, the more amazing it seems to be.

Also thank god for this waterproof phone case. Without it, mypoor iPhone would be dead, but now I get to take it in waterfalls and it still looks new! Seriously though y'all life proof was the best decision Kent ever made.

We rode the horses back to the car and headed out for Monte Verde where we had a zip lining adventure planned.bthanks to some misguided directions on my part {and the GPS} we ended up going about an hour out of the way, but the views almost made it worth it. Almost. Monte Verde also happens to be located in the middle of a cloud forest in the middle of nowhere. I kid you not we drive 16 km of dirt roads into and out of the town. We thought the doors were going to fall off the car when we finally got out. Luckily the windup did it's job and we made it without any trouble.

That night we took a hike {guided this time} because that's when a lot of the animals are active. Those animals also happen to be vipers, tarantulas, and bugs. We were quite grouchy when our one hour hike turned into two, but in retrospect it was pretty awesome seeing things that can kill you just out in the open.

The next day we took a suspended bridge hike, a tram ride, and went zip lining before eating he best pizza I've ever had. Then it was time to return to San Joaquin and say goodbye.

I'll admit I cried when they left. It was amazing having them here and I hope in the future we all can travel together again, albeit with more dry clothing this time.

P.S.- Luke, you're rain coat has been a lifesaver!
